I matched this reel with a 20 - 30# OceanMaster rod and used it to catch Kings from 5# to 30#. Great light weight combo for King Mackeral fishing and small Dolphin.

China! If this was made in sweden it would be a $500+ Reel. But when checking the real out I noticed it feels the same as any reel made in America or Japan, as the Shimano's!A:Â
This reel is made in China.Answers

I've used 300 yards of 50lb braided on mine since I bought it 2 years ago. Works fine!A:Â
I currently have mine loaded with 30lbs braid and I have about 550yards on it. I didnt wanna max out the reel as Ive noticed on other conventional baitcasters the fuller the spool the better chance of backlash!A:Â
yes. I use 65lb power pro. the reel holds 300 yards of that with about 25 yards of 12lb monofilament backerA:Â
The braided line test weight is 30 lbs. at 630 yds.Top 500 Contributor

yes of course I would try 60lb Power ProA:Â
Braid capacity is 30lb/630yds.Details:Â
I noticed there is a knob on the left and right side plates. Are they both brake adjustment knobs? How do they work together?Answers
A:Â
I noticed they are for spool tension, however the one of the left side of the reel is more of the centrifugal control. and the handle side if more of a lubrication point.Details:Â
I was a bit concerned about if reel could cast lighter lures like a bucktail or small twitchbait. I would be using it for musky.Answers
A:Â
Remember the heavier the line he heavier the lure needed to cast it,however, if using a light bait you can compensate by spooling your reel with braid, its casts better then mono with the larger diameter. However with this reel id stick to 1 oz. to 3 oz. as with mono it takes a considerable effort to move the line off the spool.Top 500 Contributor

This real will not be suited for lighter baits try the Revo Toro 50 series I am sure you would like itA:Â
i USED A 1OZ BUCKTAIL ALL WEEKEND AND DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM. I'M SURE THAT YOU COULD GO LIGHTER.A:Â
According to your line. I cast 1 oz rigs and they flyDetails:Â
I want to purchase this reel for muskie fishing, but I thought the gear ratio might be a little slow, espesially for lures like cowgirls, since I'm used to fishing with a 6.4 to 1 gear ratio.Answers
A:Â
Think of the lower gear ratio as more of a "winch" design it gives more torque for fighting larger fish. The slower the retrieve the less strain on your line of choice. I know when bass fishing a 6.4:1 - 7.1:1 is the ratio of choice because they are as hefty!Top 500 Contributor
A:Â
Yes I think it is.If you want a bit faster like in the five's try the Revo Toro Winch or just the regular Toro 50 series but it would cost more money for the two
A:Â
Just use it for slow moving topwaters. It will handle muskies.Answers
