Abu Garcia Abumatic 576i Spincast Reel
I would never buy this model again. The drag even at it's max, is weak. You would be trying to pull the line by hand to get the fish in. I do not recommend this reel to anyone. A big waste of money!

IVE HAD MY ABUMATIC 576i FOR NEARLY 4 YEARS AND IT STILL CASTS AS GOOD AS THE DAY I BOUGHT IT!AS LONG AS YOU PROPERLY CLEAN AND OIL IT ABOUT EVERY 2 OR 3 TIMES YOU USE IT, AND YOU DONT LEAVE IT OUTSIDE IN THE ELEMENTS THE ABUMATIC CAN BE THE MOST DEPENDABLE REEL YOU OWN.IVE READ A FEW COMPLANTS ABOUT HOW IT SNAGS A LITTLE IN THE BELL HOUSING WHEN CASTING.I HAVE FOUND THAT AS LONG AS YOU STAY WITHIN LINE WIEGHT CAPACITY.......THIS REEL CAN CAST A GOOD 25 OR 30 YARDS IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOIN.I LIKE USING STREN 8lb MONO.WITH THE 576i.IF YOU GO ANY HIGHER THAN 10lbs ON YOUR LINE.......YOUR MORE THAN LIKELY GOING TO HAVE SOME SNAGGING WHEN YOU GO TO CAST.I FISH ONLY WITH ABU GARCIA ROD AND REELS.I ALSO HAVE A MINT CONDITION LATE 70's MODEL ABUMATIC THAT I STILL USE FROM TIME TO TIME,AND IT CASTS JUST AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN THE 576i.THEIR PRODUCTS STAND THE TEST OF TIME,AND FOR THE MONEY YA CANT BEAT' UM!

Not a good reel. It broke first trip I used it. Thought Abu was better quality than that. Simply trying to reel in a fish and the reel locks up. :-(

Great Reel For Crappie
I have used mine for several years now. I own 6 of these reels. These reels are designed for small pan fish up to @3 pounds. With 10-pound stren original I have landed so many meals of crappie and sandies. Fishing line on a spincast reel becomes worn-out after a few months simply of the tight radius’s the line has to go through while retrieving the line. This reel is great for small baits and lures. Occasionally take off the face piece and clean the lake yuck from the inside. The thumb button also has a positive stop so you don’t apply too much pressure to the reels mechanism while casting. These are great reels and if you take care of them they last just fine. When I go after the big fish I use the correct equipment, I use my c3’ and c4’s for catfish, drum and big bass. I have owned some of these since high school in 1976.
