I've owned a few different climbers over the years. This is by far the best I have owned. I did remove the foot piece, that was the problem with noise. The stand is very comfortable and easy to carry. The best buy for your money.

I purchased this treestand as a replacement for my API Grand Slam that I bought 16 years ago. There are several differences that I do not like. The foot rest prevents the two halves from nesting like my old stand. Therefore, I removed it. The climbing stirrups are less efficient than the web foot loops on my old stand. Therefore, I will be doing something about that. The safety harness is, for all practical purposes, unuseable. However, your basic design is excellent. Therefore, try to simplify rather than complicate.

This stand climbs great and is stable and comfortable but the thing just plain weighs to much for me to pack it a long distance. The stirups are a pain to have to take off and put on in the dark especially if you drop the washer or bolt.

this my second api stand first had the sky hi climber. sent that back for this one, within the
first ten minutes of use the plastic lanyards holding the pins cracked and the plastic guides
where the chain enters the stand cracked on
both stands. i do not know if its cold weather
or not but they should not break or crack
during the first use.
