I purchased these climbing sticks and had the same problem as everyone else, they would not fit together. I ended up breaking one of the pegs off trying to put them together and it took another 2 1/2 hours to file them to get them set up in the tree. However, when I returned from my deer hunt, I e-mailed Bass Pro and they have sent me a new bottom section right away. If you purchase these climbing sticks, I would recommend making sure you try to put them together before going out to set them up because they will not fit. Thanks to Bass Pro for replacing the damaged part.

After buying the API ladder and being very happy with it, I decided to try their quikstik. I was disappointed with the stick. I took it out to my hunting spot and tried to put it up into the tree. Every joint was impossible to put together. It was necessay to file both paint and metal off to get the joints to fit together without using extreme force.

Already own 2 of these but needed another. Received new API stand and sticks from Bass Pro. Went to stand location and the stik sections would not fully go together or not go together at all! I had a 12' section on the roof of the 4-wheeler to get home, and once I made it home, needed a sledgehammer to get the sections back apart. Bass Pro sent another set as the first one was now damaged just to get apart. The second set was just like the first, the top male part of each section has to much powder coat on it, instead of a slip fit this thing is a press fit! I had to take each section over to the wire wheel and remove all the powder coat, repaint each section and now it works fine. Way to much work for the normal user, but I'am a big fan of API stuff and there equipment is normaly top shelf.

The ladder is very light weight to carry and also very well built. My only issue so far is as orthers have said that you can not expect to just take it out in the woods and assemble it. It took me about an hour to sand/file down some of the male ends before they could fit in the holes to build the ladder. Not sure it the coating they used to finish the ladder off with is applied to thick or what but that is the only issue I have had.
I would highly recommend this.
