Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews already posted concerning this ladder before I purchased it. Made the mistake of carrying it to the woods on a hunt rather than checking it out first. I did check and all the parts were present. Only 2 of the sections would fit together without substantial modifiaction...a hunting trip ruined. I carried it back and Bass Pro gave me a refund credit....will be a long time before I buy an API product again

I took these to the woods without first trying to put the sections together. A big disappointment. They wouldn't go together at all. I had to leave the woods, take them to my shop and grind on the ends to remove the paint and a little metal, and then return to the woods to put them up. The only reason I didn't take them back was the 40 miles I have to travel everytime I go to BassPro. However, once I had them together and strapped to the tree, they feel very secure and I'm happy with them. I'm hoping that by exposing metal in places, they don't rust and fail prematurely. The fit was a big disappointment considering the money I spent for them.

I have used the API quick stick for years with great pleasure and success. The latest version however not so much. I have found the unit to be far bulkier than older models thus more cumbersome in the woods. The longer steps are nice for climbing but tend to "sing" as i climb inpart because the plastic caps do not stay in them. Good ideas for the new design but needs to be tweeked. Like end caps, higher first support, more comfortable surface for the hands on the steps.
