Get big performance from your bowfishing reel with the Big Game Retriever Pro Bowfishing Reel from AMS Bowfishing. Stronger, lighter, and more resistant to corrosion than the original Retriever, the Big Game Retriever Pro is an easy to use, complete bowfishing reel with the ability to use a float or deep sea rig (not included). Fast and simple, these reels help you collect errant shots in seconds without slowing down or affecting your shots in any way like some other bowfishing reels. Advanced technology and improvements make the Big Game Retriever Pro easier to use and better performing than other bowfishing reels. You can just draw, aim, and shoot, a big feature when aiming at quick moving fish. These reels hold the line in a bottle, instead of on a spool, for exceptional line control and zero-drag performance for longer and faster shots! Its quick adjusting telescoping clamp makes adjustments for different sized hands quick and easy. A mount plate gives more clearance for protruding arrow rest. Built-in quiver holds arrow in between fishing spots! Bowfishing reel comes with 35 yards of high visibility 130# braided Dacron line, mounting hardware, two AMSBowfishing Safety Slide® kits, telescoping clamp, quiver, and instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jlb0028 Great Reel for Fish and Gators
I purchased this setup in 2007 or 2008 (the design has since been improved), but I love it and it is still working great. I've shot over 1/2 dozen gators with it, and numerous fish. It doesn't reel well with small line (hence the 4 stars), so I keep my gator line on it when I'm bowfishing...that's the only downside. I couldn't begin to count the number of fish it has shot (or shot at), but I love it and would recommend it to anyone looking to get into bowfishing that requires the detachable feature. If you are only after small or average size fish, don't spend the money on the Big Game retriever, go with one of their other reels...but stick with AMS.
I've also used a Zebco 808 reel with 80# bowfishing line and it eventually broke after extensive use (no, I did not forget to press the button). So, my personal preference is for an AMS reel when bowfishing, and the big game reel for larger game that might otherwise yank your bow out of your hands!
