Fine. Its not as smooth as the $400 reels of course...but for the price you cannot do better. For trout, bass or even small Pike you'll be more than fine.

Yes, you can use this for Peacock Bass. Try to pick a 8-weight up to 11-weight fly rod.

A:
We match the rod with the weight fly line, which will be a weight forward floating line. You can select a different fly line, but you will have to pay for it separately, or you have the option to move up through the Bass Pro fly lines like the Hobbs Creek or the CV2 and just pay a little extra.

2 or 4 pieces rods

Details:
What are the pros and cons of 2 vs. 4 piece rods? I want a 9', 5 wt, fast rod, but in this deal it only comes 2 pieces. A 8'6", 5 wt comes in 4 pieces?

A:
2 Piece will have a little better action, but 4 piece rods are more compact and easier to take with you. That is why I prefer 4 piece so I can always take it with me. Recently took it on a plane trip, would not have been able to do that with a 2 piece.

I would definitely invest in a hard case. There are straight tubes and tubes with reel covers too (combo tubes). I prefer the combo tubes because not only does it prevent my rod from being damaged, but I will never forget my reel!!

There are a lot of factors that can influence the correct rod weight for inshore salt water fishing. For instance, where will you be fishing, what will you be fishing for, how large or small are the flies you will be using, what are the weather variations in your area, and there are others.
The best thing to do is contact the closest fly shop in your area you plan to fish and ask them lots of questions. You will learn who the professional(s) is and who you can trust.
If you find that you have run into a dead end, I would suggest nothing less than a 7-weight for most inshore salt water fishing.
