Yes a 3/4" hole

Yes. You drill a 3/4" hole in the deck so the nut on the bottom side of the mounting plate can fit into the hole you drilled and the plate then can sit flush. No big deal really. Easy.A:
No need to cut any holes but each plate has 4 screws to secure it in place.

Yes either two or three small ones for nut and bolts depending witch one you choose . These rod holders are the best out there for crappie and whitebass holders available . There are other ones better suited to stronger fish like catfish or strippers or other large fish . I do however use the larger one for catfish myself but I use 20# test Berkley Big Game Solar mono for my fish and haven't had problems yet . The line will stretch and give enough to give me time to grab rod before a big fish can break anything . Still if Crappie fishing wasn't my main reason for buying this then I would look at stronger rod holders . Good luck !!Details:
The T118 removes easily according to the picture, but is the T250 also easily removed when not in use. Also what is more recommended, the 118 or 250 for longer lasting, and durability?Answers

I have used both and the T250 is the best of the two. Very easy to install, just screw long screw into base a couple of turns and attach t - bar with wing nut.A:

Yep, one wing nut and it all comes apart. Then you unscrew the main rod for the device and there is nothing remaining but the base plate.

Yes the 250 is a little sturdier . I use two 118s for crappie and I have one 250 that I use for catfishing . I feel like both are sturdy and long lasting comes by making sure the mount is enforced from the bottom with wood or anything to displace the force from tighteng down. I use my 118s on almost all my fishing trips and they are as good as new . I've had them about 6yr now. I did change the wing nuts on it to standard ones with lock washers 2x on each and attached a small cresent by string to each to loosen and tighten . I also took off the aluminum nut gizmo thing used to tighten down the bar to the boat mount . I also replaced it with an identicle nut for a total of two nuts to use together to keep tight .Works great this way. Hope that helps out in some way.Details:

If you asking if there is a rod holder out there to attach directly to your seats I would have to say you can only find deep sea rigs for this. You really wouldn't want to attach holders to the seats for crappie because every little movement you make will transfer through to the bait often spooking finiky fish. These T-bars are tall enough that you mount them on the casting deck directly in front of the seats facing forward. The T-Bars are removable and all that is left is a small triangular 1/3'' flat mount . It's very small and is really not a tripping hazard at all. If your looking for crappie rod holders then these are really the way to go.1 of 1
