YES!! all rubber boots will have a smell when you first take them out of the box, but if you have a boot warmer or something similar I would use that and it clears the smell right out of the boots. It's like a new car smell, you kind of just have to expect it from all rubber boots.

when you first get the wear them in the field, walk through the mud and muck, but don't clean them off let it dry then stomp the mud off. this will take care of the rubber odor, then use scent killer spray when you hunt.

A:
when i bought mine i immediatly purchsed a set of thicker insole because thes only come with a thin insole. and the seem pretty tight fitting and dont really move to much. the outsole is pretty tough and it took me 3 seasons to take a chunk out of it so the should hold up nice in the mountains.
