yes, it ships with the handle to reel on the left side and I reel with my right hand. It's very easy to change over.

I didn't find it to be too big and bulky but it is for big fish so yeah it's not your Zebco 33 or $10 ultra light rig.

Not if you can cast a spinning reel. If you are only used to spin cast reels it takes a little bit of getting used to but once you get used to a spinning reel it works. Mine broke the crank on the reel to this model traded up to a Bill Dance Catfish model

I usely use 5 oz bank sinkers on this rod and they work ok. Except they make the rod bend a little.
