A:
Yes they will help considerably. I did try them with the tv but I do not know the battry life while in use. I do know that I left the batteries in the units in what I thought was in the "off" position and when I tried to use them a couple of days later the batteries were dead and had to be replaced. So if you use them for tv I would recommend removing the batteries after each use.

According to the paper work about 30hrs. I have been using mine about 30 hrs and they are working just fine. The batteries are very inexpensive so it works for me.

It will vary depending on use. There is no way to give you a number. Product requires more power for sound enhancement or sound reduction. One of the reviews on this page talks about power usage, it may give you some insight.
