Designed to turn heavier flies into the wind with little effort. For longer more accurate casts, the Tropical Saltwater line is equipped with the Powerflex® monofilament core that features a hard, super smooth, super floating AgentX™ coating that prevents the line from wilting even in the most extreme tropical conditions. The line has convenient welded loops on both ends. Sporting a sky blue color, the line beautifully blends into the natural environment making it more difficult for fish to see. Length: 100.

Details:
I was thinking about buying some of this line and i looked on Rio 's website and the head wieght of the line is 280 grains for the 8wt line. Is this to heavy for a 8 wt medium/fast action. I think a fast action 8 wt rod would cast this line better but i am still learning.

A:
You will want to match the line weight with the Rod weight.

If line is WF-8-F then use a 8 weight rod.
