Good rod for texas rig?

Details:
I'm looking to buy a good quality spinning rod that I can put some 10lb braid and 8lb fluoro leader on and fish a texas rigged worm. I fish clear lakes so the smaller line is a must. I was looking at buying a carrot stix but it seems every review I look at mentions the breaking problems so I have tended to stray away from that idea. Can someone please give me some feedback on this rod? I'm looking at the 6'8 M

Hey Lefty,

The BSR802, (6'8" Med.) is definitely the best rod for your application you have described. I personally use this as my go to spinning rod for my smallmouth fishing, but this rod will have all the power needed to pull big largies out of deep brush. Pick one up, you will be nothing but impressed! Good luck

I have had three Carrot stiks, two broke and were replaced my 10 year old sons fish with them know. I have fished with the Carbonlite and New Abu Garcia Veritas on Lake texoma and both a very capable of handling up to 6lb smallmouths. They have great backbone and flex to move the fish and allow you to play the fish at the same time.
