The reels are great for trolling. The ADP27LCW is wider i believe. Best way to find out for sure what you want is to go to bass pro or somewhere to compare them side by side.

I Troll for walleye in Lake Erie east of Cleveland, out of Fairport Harbor, OH. You can try a number of things such as downriggers, dipseys, jetdivers, and planar boards. We use 8 foot Shimano rods, with daiwa accudepths. We use 15 lbs. fireline with a 15 lbs fluorocarbon leader with down rigger and planar boards. 20 pound fireline for the dipseys.

A:
Trolling for walleye you want a flexible rod with a sensitive tip. Line counters are a huge plus but not absolutely necessary. I prefer a 7' ML rod with a daiwa 17 accudepth reel matched with 10-12 lb. line.

A:
You can put a total of 360 yards of 25Lb line total. You could estimate and put it one the reel to the point where it looks like you'll have enough, but not overload the reel.

A:
Yes. There is a fish alert that can be turned on that makes the line click when line is being pulled from the reel. This is very helpful when trolling.
