I haven't timed it, but a slight tap on the footpedal and the response to the motor is almost instantaneous. It may require a couple of taps to turn the motor as sharply in the direction you wish to go. The same is true when increasing or decreasing speed.

Response varies, sometimes it reacts with the first input sometimes you got to hit it several times and then turns way past where you wanted. Junk

If your asking if the whole unit can be removed from its mount off your boat to be stored away then the answer is yes but the mounting plate that holds the Motorguide wireless troller onto your boat stays on. They do sell a plastic cover that can go over the mounting plate when the troller is removed, to give your boat deck that clean look.

The mount is a permanent mount. I have a mount plate cover over it when the trolling motor is not being used to prevent any injury from someone (including myself) who may enter the pontoon boat using the front gate.

Measure the distance from the tip of the bow of your boat to the water line. Then, add 24"-30". That should get you in the ball park.

get the longest shaft you can afford. In high waves, it pays to high longer shafts. And you can adjust it to make it shorter when you are in the skinny water.

go for 60 inch.

A:
No, that won't work. The motor, if you're buying a new one, comes with a mounting bracket. You need to use that one. The wireless motors actually pick up and deploy in a different way than any other motor--even other MotorGuides. In fact, because of this you can not use a trolling motor mounted transducer with the cable twisted around the shaft. You will have to mount your transducer for a thru-hall use in the bow, or get the version with the transducer already in the foot of the motor (for Lowrance units). Also, the plug is a three wire application.

It's not difficult. You are actually reaching for the lever that releases the motor from its locked down position. That lever is back from the end of the bow a little bit.

Shouldn't be necessary to reach over the bow as the motor returns to the cradle by raising it straight up. I've fished in 60+ feet of water and had to pull it up to move as well as 2 feet of water with no difficulty. I was actually more afraid that my prescription sunglasses would fall into the water when I tried to raise the motor, but that hasn't happened yet.

It's a little uncomfortble reaching out that far. I'm a big guy and old and I've not fell out yet but I always feel like I have to brace myself well before stowing the motor. Also, when I pull the motor up the stow position, I have to reach down and turn the motor manually with my hand so it will go in the lock position and that's a pain.

A:
It is very awkward to cradle the motor when changing spots. On a windy day in a light boat (anything aluminum) if you are too close to shore and are not quick bringing the motor up you will be blown onto the bank before you can get it stowed. It won't really send you overboard but it is difficult to cradle it and drop it back in quickly and quietly.

There is no rip cord to assist like their is in foot pedal models so you have to lean over it, bring it straight up and then lean it back into the cradle. Very awkward design and can be hard to control. If you leave the motor facing straight in front of the boat, the prop adds too much resistance when bringing it up. You have to cut it 90 degrees to bring it up quickly and that is difficult as soon as its almost out of water when you have the full weight of the motor to contend with.

Do not buy it. If you are used to a foot pedal design, stick with that. This is a good model TM for showing new boaters like myself what NOT to buy. Every experienced boater that has fished with me in tournaments on my boat hates my TM and for good reason. Its a truly horrible design and I can't wait to get rid of it.

The is not easy way. I used plastic ties but you have to leave them sort of loose so the motor can turn without binding with the transducer cord and mine hangs up anyway. I would not buy this motor again without the built in transducer.

I have the same one. You cannot attach the wire to the shaft. I use a small bungie cord and zip tie the wire to it. Then I attach one end of the bungie up on the thick power cable and one to the mounting bracket. You then pull it tight and it will keep the wire out of the blade and allow it to turn. You just have to unhook the bungie from the mounting bracket when pulling up the trolling motor. I will soon have my tranducer bow mounted but this works for now.
