What's ultralight like?

Details:
Never fished ultralight b4 but am going to take kids fishing and want a fight. Will this really give good rod bending (but not cracking action) from sonnies to bullheads, bass, maybe even channel cats?

Well, it will give really good action with anything from 12oz. up. It may not stand up to bullheads and channel cats.

I love the action that the smallest fish gives you. I have fished with ultralight gear for years and love it. My grandchild really like it and they think they have a whale when it is a very smallfish.
