I can't give you cm, because sizes vary for all hooks. If that's what you were looking for, I am sorry, and the following answer may seem elementary for your.The difference between hook sizes, I can tell you.hooks
Basically 1 hooks are smaller then 1/0 (pronounced one ought.)
Hook sizes go like this, A hgih number (without the /0) is the smallest. I think a size twenty eight is the smallest. As the numbers get smaller, the hooks get larger. A size 14 hook is bigger then a 28 but smaller then a 10. Then, with 1 being the hook without an /0 it goes to 1/0 and then proceeds normally with hook sizes corresponding to number sizes. So a 1/0 hook is bigger then a 1 hook but smaller then a 2/0 hook.
Easiest way to think of it is think of hooks without the /0 as being negative numbers and hooks with /0 being positive numbers, if that makes sense.

I use the black nickel or chrome finish in clear water but if you're looking to immitate the look of wounded prey then the red will add that touch of red flash that some folk's/fish desire! I generally use the black nickel.A:

they are stronger ,i got snaged on a log the other day and with 65lb braid i pulled the boat to the log and unhooked it and the hook was like new the point still sharp and the hook never bent now thats a strong hook and illl will not use anything else.Images for this Answer

The selection of a hook size depends on the size of the worm you are using not the size of the fish. Number 3 should work with most 6" plus worms. This is a worm hook designed for the point to insert back into the worm rendering it weedless. When the fish hits you have to do a firm hook set to pull the hook thru the worm and into the fish. They have a Number 4 size that's too big. If you use small worms the Number 2 size might be good. BUT in general I don't like the hook, it has too much curve. See my review.A:
The answer varies based on fishing technique and tackle. I use a lot of flukes and straight tail worms like the trick worm. If I had to pick just one hook I would pick a 4/0 Extra Wide Gap superline hook. It is a good all around size and will I have handled many fish in the range you specified. If I have a choice then:Finesse FL/Tx Rig - 2/0 or 3/0 EWG
Fluke - 4/0 EWG
Weigthless floating worm - 4/0 EWG
Frog - 5/0 EWG
Flipping - 5/0 EWG

i use 3/0 xps magna hooks in my lizards,frogs ,sinko's,fluks,everything now when i use the 4in sinko i use a 2/0 xps magna hook they fit better and the rate the lure sinks is perfect ,i use just the hook and plastic lure it sinks slow and the bass love it.it's the stronest hook on the market today in my book and when useing 65lb.braid what ever you hook comes to the boat .Images for this Answer

Depends on cover if your just fishing a sand or rocky bottom stick with a 3/0. IF you have weeds timber and so on id go with a 5/0A:
the size of the hook all depends on the size of the worm or soft plastic that you're using. for a 4 inch worm, use a 2/0 to 3/0 hook. for a 7 to 10 inch worm, you can use a 4/0 to 6/0 hook.

For fish in the 2-5 pound range you can get away with a 3/0 hook. When you start targetting bigger fish you will need to move up in the size of your bait thus needing a bigger hook. I would then graduate to a 4/0 or 5/0 size hook. Remember the bigger the fish the bigger their mouth thus the bigger the hook you will need. It is not feasible to fish a 3/0 hook on a 10 inch worm. A 5/0 on a 10 inch worm covers more length on the worm. Hope this helps and tight lines.1 of 1
