What type of anchor would I need to use with a 16' boat with mostly sandy bottom shallow lakes? Do you have to stow the anchor once its retrieved? I've seen people use these and once its retrieved they just drive away, yet I didn't see a 'normal' anchor at the end of it.

I have read the reviews on these products and it seems this DH25 is the best model. I am concerned about the one made for a pontoon, no good reviews there so will this one work on my pontoon?

I see no reason it would not word on your pontoon there would not be that mush more drag than on a bassboat. I dropped anchor in very swift water with a 15# anchor and it helt fine

I have no doubt it will work. It has an automatic stall which senses when the boat is up to the bow stop. You may have to activate the winch several times if the stall switch kicks in, but it is an instant reset and does not slow down the overall function of the unit.
