A:
Selecting jig colors for crappie can be a tricky processes. When fishing clear water, you may want to stick with a more neutral color such as white. However, if fishing murkier waters, try using attractor colors such as chartruse or red. As well, it may be sound advice to have many colors available and to allow the fish to choose. Crappie, as well as many panfish, can seem to like one color one day and another the next. Keep trying until you have found what seems to be working the best.

For more information on how to select jig colors please view our OutdoorSite Library's articles and videos about crappie by going to http://content.basspro.com/instantS...

I use the orange and white colors for crappie and alternate to see which they will bite on.

I use a red head, chartuse chenille and yellow marabou. I normally fish very clear water. In darker water, I'd recommend darker colors.

yes; seems especially effective during pre-spawn; I live on a 500 acre freshwater lake so it may be different in other areas; My experience is specifically on this lake
