A:
I don't have a picture but it did come with a seat. There are probably 4 main seats that you can buy for such a kayak and this one is the third best. I am tall and heavy and this one (once adjusted very carefully) has enough support to keep me comfortable (not lazy boy comfortable but close enough to have fun).

Tandem Kayak??

Details:
The decsription states there is a bonus backseat with this kayak. Am i correct in thinking that this is a tandem kayak but still small enough for one person to use?

Thanks!

A:
This is not a tandem kayak. The "bonus" seatback refers to the fact that the kayak is traditionally sold without a seatback at all. Therefore the fact it comes with one is a bonus. If you' re looking for a tandem sit on top look for the Malibu by Ocean Kayak.

I think sit on tops must be the best all around paddle boat. I had a canoe first and did a lot with it. I wrecked in some rapids one time and it filled up with water. It drug me for around five minutes. I was trying to stop it. Finally, I caught a tree and tried to hold on to it but it would have ripped me in half so I let it go.

A sit inside will do the same thing unless you learn to roll and wear a skirt. How will you fish in such a set-up? I took a sit inside to the ocean and it kept filling up with water (no skirt) and dumping me out. I had to muscle it upside down every time and dump the water out.

Sit on tops have none of those flaws.

A:
Personally, I am partial to Ocean Kayak brand fishing kayaks. However, consider that kayak fishing on fast moving rivers is typically not a reccomended approach. Float fishing leaves you subject to the current and anchoring in a fast current is dangerous. You're best bet is to kakak the river until you find a spot beach the yak and fish from land. In which case you'd want to be sure to have dry storage for your rods and gear (like the rod pod in the Ocean Kayak trident line). Please think twice about fishing out of a kayak in strong currents!

I haven't tried but I don't think the depressions are in the shape of a milkcrate (or big enough for one). The rear one appears to be in the shape of a scuba tank.

A:
yes and no. The crate could physically fit, except that the compartment is curved instead of being a level floor (great for a scuba tank let's say) so although the room is there, unless you secure it with a bunch of ropes and the likes, it won't be stable.
