The only help this unit will offer for taking out a bird's nest will be to hold the reel in position as you hand strip the line. The battery operated stripper supplied most likely will not eat the bird's nest so you are left to strip it off by hand. If you stop when the nest is gone, the remaining line will be left on the reel.A:

Yes, just keep the bail closed and loosen the drag and it simply removes the line with no problems.

I DON'T USE SPINCAST BUT THERE IS NO REASON WHY IT WON'T STRIP THE LINEA:
