A:
I Texas-rig these baits. The amount of weight will be determined by the density of cover you are throwing to. I pitch to a lot of heavy cover with these , so use a heavy braid line and either 3/8 or 5/8 weight. If you use braid, do yourself a favor and use hooks with spring locks or something similar- it will reduce the amount of damage to the baits from the braided line. Really thick slop, I'll use a bigger bait, heavier weight and a punch skirt. The Ugly Otter, along with Gambler's 10" Ribbontail Worm, are my go-to plastics. Also a fan of their Cane Toads. I think the heavy garlic scent makes a HUGE difference! Good luck!

quarter oz or one eighth fished weedless under docks or added to a Carolina rig. I choose the 3.5in. added to a finesse jig five sixteenth such as a Stacey jig in watermellon green with a black skirt.

A:
Use an extra wide gap hook, at least a 4/0 if not a 5/0, or a jig with a very long shank hook. Whichever you choose, you need a hook that will allow the "meat" of the lure to get away from the point so it can do its job.
