A:
It does not really lock the blades or tools, it is just like an old-school pen-knife i.e. if you push them, they shut.

I know that the bladed tools (scissors, knife, serrated knife edge) lock for sure when you use them one at a time, but I am not sure if all the tools lock at once or as you use them one at a time.

A:
The locking system can lock each blade individually, or all components at once. Basically you will choose which component you want to use and then lock it in for use.

it locks just the knife blade, i do suggest oiling this once every so often as i found it can jam after getting a bunch of gunk in it. nothing to worry about.

A:
Each component by itself, though opening the internal blades is difficult. Unlocking the blades safes in the handle needs the assistance of an additional tool. My nails do not suffice.
