The manufacturer states that this product can produce slices that are "deli-thin" so you should be able to shave hams.

Yes it will. My advice is to use one! You can get the same thickness of all your cuts. You need to remove as much of the silver skin as possible. I recommend slightly freezing the meat before you cut it so the meat is somewhat stiff.

Yes, you do need to trim the meat to the size of the blade. Mine works great. NO BONES it won't cut them.
