Would it be a better idea to buy 2 Buddy heaters or 1 Big Buddy.

Here is my thinking,
-If I bought 2 I have the option to heat 2 seperate rooms
-Or I could put them in opposong corners of one larger room.
Any thoughts on this pros cons?

A:
I own two. The reason is when the power is down I need more than one room heated... I have a small one and the double one and they are excellent excellent heaters....but if you can afford them get two..... a small one for camping and the large one for emergency.

that is logical UNLESS you are planning to run them off if a big tank,if so then you have to run 2 hoses outside to your larger tank. I have the BIG buddy and it cranks heat to heat a 33 ft rv. it does well on low but when want toasty crank on high.

At -6 degrees Celsius outside, A BIG BUDDY kept my tent trailer (22 feet open), at a high setting, so warm that I could be in a t-shirt and shorts.

Depending on room size, amount of propane available, etc, it all comes down to the "extras". How many propane cylinders you want to buy, how many hoses and adapters you want to buy, etc etc.

I have two of the big buddies and have never used two at a time . We have a 600 square foot rec. room and one will heat it up nicely . I dont like the built in fan so I use a really small desk top fan on the ground behind the heater blowing the heat straight up and pretty soon we have to turn it down to med. high. Love them . No smell hardly at all . Have used them on the pontoon boat too . I believe the two heater method does have some merit to it to consider though . But if it was me I would buy two big buddy's because I don't think the small ones can be used with a large propane tank at all . Not sure about this so I would check on the accurracy of that claim before accepting it as fact . Hope that helps out . Any more questions ask again and I'll check again in about 5 days .

You don't need to cut a hole in it for fumes but for a deer stand that is about standard size I think I would keep it as an open option ( something like a window ) because even on low setting this baby puts out the heat . Really nice heaters . I have two of them . Also it is the only one I'm aware of that is made to be used in enclosed environments besides the really small ones and they aren't worth even looking at . Hope that helps out in some way .

This heater requires a vent area of 18 square inches (example 4 1/4” x 4 1/4” opening) minimum for adequate ventilation during operation. Do not use other fuel burning appliances inside. keep any objects at least 24 inches from the front of the heater.

there is NO sound other than the lighting ......or very very very little sound.. I have had deer walk within feet of me with this heater on...... now common sense has to come into play here.. anything burning gives off some smell even if it is only a tiny bit.

Yes, The fan is so quiet (If you want to use the fan) that I often forgot that the fan was still on while packing it into the truck to take home.

There is no real HISS either of the propane, it was very quiet which was a nice change for a heater.

I'd recommend purchasing it.

No, but it is not the manufacturers fault. There is simply not enough O2 for the heater to have the correct air fuel ratio. If they were to equip the heaters with a high altitude orifice then yes they would work just fine. However, this would cause safety risks when using the heater at lower elevations. Those that gave this heater poor reviews should not have. It simply was not designed for high elevation. There are plenty of other heaters using different fuels that will burn just fine at higher elevations. This is a great heater for camping, hiking, hunting etc........I even use mine in the garage durring the winter while completing around the house projects. Works much better than an electric heater equipped with a fan.

ive read on the box that 6500 is max, but have read people have tried using it anyway. The problem may be due to the fact it has an oxygen shutoff if oxygen is low.

Is this safe?

Details:
I want to put a cap on my truck so my hunting gear doesn't get wet and it will give me more room in the front. But I wanted to build some type of shelf in the back of the bed and then buyone of those blow up mattress so I could sleep in the back. Then if it was cold, I was going to get one of these heaters so I could stay warm. Do you think this is dangerous.

The Mr. Heater MH18B Big Buddy is CSA Certified for indoor and outdoor use. Read all of the manufacturer’s instructions and make sure it is properly vented. Vacuum and clean the dust and lint from it and keep all combustible materials away from it. Also, be sure to place heaters at least 36 inches away from walls or anything else that will burn.

The biggest danger is from carbon monoxide emissions. If using any propane heater in an enclosed space you should vent the area. Open a window or flap slightly to let in fresh air.
Be safe and warm.

You would need the 20 lb tank for extended use like 220 hours on low..
The heater can accept two 1 lb tanks, one on each side, or you can run it with just 1 tank also.

SURE, the heater does not discriminate on the size of the tank just the pressure which is why you have a pressure regulator

You could use any size tank.
You would need a hose to connect it.
The heater has a regulator you connect to where the 1 lb tank connects to.
The heater also has a quick connect connection on the left side but it is not connected to a regulator so you would require a regulator by using the quick connect.

Yes but you will need a regulator, just a reg regulator from a gas gril will work. I often use a gas grill tank with mine. I use a T addapter I bought at the local super store and a coleman hose and it will run for many many, many hours on what I think is a 33lb tank?
