Yes they contain lead, most ammo does. You can find "lead free" ammo, but it is usually VERY expensive (in comparison) and typically you can only find the most popular calibers. UMC over the years has lowered the emount of lead in their products (considerably lower than agula, blazer ect.) . Almost all the ammo you will find for handguns has a "lead core" projectile. You can limit the possible exposure to lead by using TMJ (total metal jacket) and FMJ (full metal jacket- like the UMC), however there are some brands that have traces of lead in the powder they use. Check with the manufacturers if its a real concern for you. I have been shooting regularly since I was a kid and have had no problems related to lead. Wash your hands and clothes well after shooting, don't stick your fingers in your mouth with GSR (gun shot residue) on them before you wash your hands and you should greatly limit your exposure to the heavy metal.
