Ridgid bottom?

Details: 
I have the roof rack on my Tahoe but it is just the 2 that go from front to back. Do I also need the ones that go from side to side to support the luggage?

I used it with just the front to back rails. Crossed extra straps over the top. Stayed put for me.

YES - You need cross rails to fully secure bag. (8 point straps)
