I was comfortably getting 1 3/4 lbs in the bags. I backed it down to 1 as that is the size i wanted to store

Yes, as long as you have a stuffing tube. I use a rubber band to hold the bag on the tube losely while I grind. As the bag fills the bag slides down the tube until its full. twist it and seal it with tape. Works Great
