i use a regular car battery from auto zone and just use it to power light and it lasts all night long

No, it is not. It gives off green glow of a special substance that attracts zooplanton and other organisms that bait fish eat. After about 30-45 mins you will have all kinds of game fish arrive and you need to fish the outside edge of green glow and pull lure towards inside of circle. It is fantastic!!! I have a 4' and a 2' and they WORK.
