Absolutely. I have been fishing freshwater (bass) and saltwater (trout and redfish) for years with the same rods and reels. My favorite setup is a Calcutta 200B on a 7' medium or medium light rod.

the components used , like the guides they stand up to saltwater better on saltwater rods, but there are many people that use freshwater rods in saltwater , just make sure you don't skip the cleaning , after the day is over.rinsing your rods with freshwater is all thats needed.Details:
