GREAT FROM THE JETTIES WHEN FISHING A NEW AREA AND TRYING TO DETERMINE BOTTOM CONTOUR ON THE INCOMING TIDE. NOT SO GOOD FROM THE BEACH WITH A LOT OF SURF( A LITTLE ELEVATION ABOVE THE WATER WORKS BEST).

The transducer is placed on the end of a fishing rod/line and cast out to where you want to see the depth...while reeling it in it will show the depth changes (bottom) on the watch face.

A:
The SmartCast is a wireless fishfinder that is incredibly easy to use. Simply attach the Remote Sonar Sensor (RSS) to the end of your fishing line and cast it into the water as you would a normal float or lure. Then power on the SmartCast RF35 and the SmartCast system uses sonar technology to send sound waves from the RSS into the water. The returned “echoes” are transmitted with wireless technology to the RF35 and plotted on the display. New information appears on the right. As this information moves to the left a very accurate picture of the underwater world is created, including objects such as the bottom, fish, and structures, as well as the depth of the bottom.

The Remote Sonar Sensor has a separate, non-replaceable lithium battery that has a shelf life of three years and will last for approximately 500 hours of in-water use
