yes it keeps your hook out of you and others or from putting holes in your upholstery if the o-ring doesn't work for you try your locol hardwhare store just put it on the back side of your rod so it doen't interfere with your casting

Yes I would use this on a 6' 6" baitcaster. I believe that is what I have one of them on currently.
Yeah it would work good. I use mine on a fiberglass crank bait rod and if you have seen fiber glass rods they are very thick. You have to get one of these.
