I don't know what the limits are on the strike indicaters, but I would say that if you are using a superline that it would be ok.

You could mount it on a surf pole, but I don't think that this is an ideal use. I think the counter will greatly decrease your casting distance since the line has to pass through a very tight area on the counter. I use this line counter for trolling only, and it works very well for that purpose.

I've not tried this, but it should work. The counter will be upside down on the rod, so you will have to stop spooling to check the counter. As long as the line is coming off the line spool the same direction that it is going onto the reel spool, line twist shouldn't be an issue.

i bought a line counter and found its diffucult to use for anything but filling my reels with the line winders i bought, now i always know how much line i'm putting on my reals

no aftermarket line counter is made to work with spinning reels. They will, if you're ok with the line counter mounted on the bottm of the rod near the tip so the line can run through it correctly. But the it is not only facing the ground, but is all the way near the tip, better have good eyes. They work wonderful for conventional reels, when set up properly. It won't work right outta the box, you need to tune it for YOUR rod, reel, and line diameter
