Customer Reviews   Description   Outdoor Answers
The incredibly versatile Palm Tree from Kinami Baits is a bulky bait built to resemble a solid bodied tube bait. Ideal for Texas and Carolina rigging, the Palm Tree's is deadly when rigged backwards on a 4/0 wide gap hook. When rigged backwards it slowly sinks away from you, and its skirt produces a natural flaring action. Bass can't hold back when they spot a Palm Tree headed their way!

What is Skin hooking?

A:
when you bring the hook point all the way through the bait...and then just barely put the point slightly under the surface of the bait...

I like EWG hooks for this...as the barb portion lies flat against the body of the plastic...and it's real easy just to slightly bury the point back into the plastic...

on the bite, it releases and is available for hook ups...

Pretty much rig all my plastics this way...a similar approach is 'texposed'

A:
It's a pretty dense lure, at least a half ounce, probably much more. Ultralite probably wouldn't be best. Also, a little backbone in the rod is necessary as a pretty good hookset is a must with the solid body, even with skinhooking it. M/MH fast tip is what I use.

A:
They are relatively heavy, and would be difficult to fish hookset on ultra lite equipment, it isn't impossible, but I think these are better suited for a medium/medium heavy action setup with a stronger line to match.
