do you cut through the rib cage? while cleaning white bass etc my friend cuts up to the top of cage. I did cut the ribs and the knife (not this brand) got hot did not like that route on the larger fish.Answers

Depends on how big the fish is. I cut through 13 inch crappie without any problem. I usually cut around the ribs on large bass and catfish. Most freshwater electric knives aren't made to handle that much work, they will overheat and die.A:

its coiled up its 3 feet but when you pulll it get up to about 5 1/2 to 6 feetA:
its only a couple of feet but i always use extension cords anyway.... the cordless electric fillet knives dont last long and you have to buy extra batteries...ill stick with the corded models1 of 1
