When fishing in clear water, try more neutral colors (browns, greens, and black tones tend to do best). When in muddy situations use bright colors (such as chartruse, pink, or red). Also, if fishing very muddy water, you may want to consider dying the tail of the worm in a lure dye (such as the Spike It chartruse lure dye) to help in distinguishing the lure.
