A:
Slide on or off with less effort. Position the Bunk Glide Ons so that the two left and the two right bunks are facing inward and downward. Starting at the rear of the trailer, slide one of the Bunk Glide Ons onto the 2x6 lumber with the open side to the middle
of the bunk board. Push the Glide On section onto the lumber until it is almost flush with the end of the bunk board (see Fig 2).

see my review. these are covers. I also have 7' bunks, so I'll have to cut and equivalent amount off of the ends of the two sleeves for each side so that the groved surfaces (that help self-center the boat) properly line up.

A:
The diagonal grooves are what make them self centering. When installed correctly, the grooves point towards the midline of the trailer. This is supposed to keep the boat centered on the trailer while loading.

what are they coated with to prevent scratches to the boat?

A:
These are covers/sleeves that go over bunk board lumber and are attached to the lumber via the included stainless steel screws at the sides. There is no attachment at the top surface (that touches the boat) so you have to make sure that the covers are completely flat against the lumber or they will eventually crack at the side attachment points.

They are made out of plastic, I haven't noticed any ill effects from using them and I have had them on my trailer for over a year.

A:
Yes, the mounting hardware is included. They are stainless steel and are not coated. They will have no contact with the boat as they are installed on the sides of the bunks and not the top.

A:
By virtue that these are high quality plastic, they don't need to be. They are naturally slippery.

A:
these covers are not coated but are solid PVC material. By their nature PVC is slippery, expecially when wet.

A:
The ones that I bought fit nicely over two by four bunks. But mine were carpeted which I had to remove and clean all the staples off before I could mount them. They overall length is approximately 7 to 8 feet long for each bunk.
