A:
It's hard to say the easiest way to remove carpet because there is no industry standard for how carpet is adheared to the deck.

However, you may want to check out The Ultimate Bass Fishing Resource Guide LLC's article at the following link. It provides great tips and instructions on how to help remove the old carpet from your boat while installing your new carpet:

My boat is 17.5 ft. and I ordered the 24 ft. and recovered all compartments, inside and out and barely had enough, you may want to order quite a bit more if your redoing everything...

I would measure the entire area to be covered, add for compartments that the carpet wraps to the inside of the lid,and consider the width a big factor, you should be able to roll out the carpet and lay down all the lids, and have enough carpet left to cover the boat with the grain being the same direction,I do recommend buying 10-15% extra due to scrap from cutting.Boats are in a v shape, and the bow cuts really add to your scrap. You can multiply the length x width to get the square feet, which is needed for the glue, most buckets will do around100 sq.ft. The measuring should be done twice to be accurate.

A:
It may be just enough, I bought this for 17ft javelin Fish and Ski and didn't have enough for the sides and under the console. I had just enough for the floor and lids, but not enough glue. Carpet glue is too easy to get from the hardware store.

A:
Measure existing carpet, include the lid edges wher the carpet turns under, buy enough to get the grain running in the same direction.Add for scrap, buy spray adhesive to turn those edges, you would need dozens of clamps to get the glue to stay, the adhesive eliminates this.

The store I went to had a small sample board that shows the different carpet - you can match up the numbers on the sample board with the catalog to know what you are ordering

Yes it will. Make sure that you've cleaned the surface properly with a solvent based cleaner such as acetone, and you'll be in good shape.

Measure all of the "ups & downs" in your boat, including lids for storage compartments, etc. I had a 1973 18' boat and used almost every inch of the 8' X 21' kit by the time everything was done.

Best way to determine for certain how much carpet you need is to measure from the point furthest forward in the bow back to the furthest poing rearward in the stern, following the contours of the floor. Check to see if you'll need any additional length to do your lids or engine cover if applicable, then order your carpet. You can always add a few extra feet to what you order to be on the safe side, and if you have any left over, use them on the bunks on your trailer. Good luck!

This is permanent for most people, so I just glued it...it looks great for the money.. the snaps you can buy yourself and put in, but you'll have to find that location near you that might have them or just search on internet for ordering them. You may consider going with a heavier grade if you're going to be using snaps and taking it in and out of your boat...

Hi You can go to most any upolstery shop and there they can install the snapes for you. You will have to either bring in your boat or the old carpet for a patern. Bob

Sorry, these kits are more generic so that they can serve a wider range of boats. The advantage to this is the lower price than the custom cut pieces. The boat carpet kits that Bass Pro offers have a 6'x12' piece of kraft paper rolled around the core of the carpet that you can use as a pattern piece to get your carpet close to fitting without having to wrestle with the entire piece of carpet in the boat. Simply start at the stern, make your pattern there, use the tacks that are enclosed with the glue to fasten the pattern paper to the carpet, and then cut it out using a sharp utility knife. For some of the more demanding or intricate detail cuts a sharp pair of scissors will work just as well. The carpet is easier to cut from the back than from the front, but be sure that you properly orientate your pattern so that you don't cut a mirror image of what you need. Any left over bits can be used to replace the carpet on your trailer bunks to help protect the outside of your boat & keep it looking as good as the inside will after you replace the carpet! Hope this helps!
