The rod doesnt glow in the dark, its marketed as having the top three eyelets glow in the dark. But they dont, so you may want to throw a bell on the end. Not a big deal by any means though, still a great combo.

firstly check and see how much 12lb mono would fit, and yes it would handle it, I've used 20lb braid on small spinning reels, around 8lb and as long as you dont wind up the drag it'll do well

I would go with a combo a little smaller.This rod and reel is a little big for pike.Where i live 3 inch white grubs work well

does this reel have a bait runner like kingcat has because i use live bait for cashing and i let em grab it and run and its nice to just hit a leaver and the drag witch higher to set my hook

No what I do is loosen my drag until the fish bits it then i tighten my drag and set the hook.
