A:
I think it depends on water temperature and clarity. I have been doing most of my fishing in the black (brackish) waters of VA and NC and anything chartreuse works great. I have been using Berkley Power bait of the black and chartreuse color and firetiger crawdads and minnows from Strikeking and Rebel. I have also been using Chartreuse spinner baits. Keep in mind that the water clarity is black to muddy and the temps have been in the 80's to 90's. I hope this helps.

The water color generally is the best clue...muddy/stained, use dark or chartruse colors, clear water use light colors (silver or white).

A:
The best color would depend on water conditions. Something that resembles the forage base where you fish would be good in clearer water (i.e. Gizzard Shad or Tenn. Shad). In darker water brighter colors like Firetiger or Chartreuse Shad would be better.
