no barbs furnished. Because of sizing of different I.D. gas lines, have to obtain locally. However plugs are provided to close of unused or un-selected ports.

The kit comes with 3 different barbs,1/4 -3/8-1/2 so that should cover most gas lines.

I changed mine once a year. My Lake Erie boat had water in the gas when I bought it and I put a fuel-water mixer I bought at a marina which blended the water into the gas and I had no more problem with it after that, so then I put a seperator kit on it. My tank was 53 gallon and made of aluminum.

The filter body is made of clear material,so I guess you can see when it starts to get plugged up.

I believe the Moeller Marine Water Filter might have a drain. You can see the water that has been seperated from the fuel in it.

A:
No, when the filter is full it is disposed of and you replace the filter much like you do when you have an oil change on your vehicle. They do make filters with a water drain off but, it has been my experience that they are made of a cheap plastic and they brake really easy. This happens with very little pressure and something as simple as a battery jumping could smash that filter leaving you stranded. Stick with this type of filter, you won't be disappointed.

First locate your fuel line. Then search for a good mounting surface that is not to close to anything electrical ( wiring or batteries) remember to never use any part of the boats hull for mounting because you could create an unnecessary hole. After locating your mounting area, make sure your fuel line will reach there. Clean the area thoroughly and mount the filter system. Next, run the fuel line up to the fuel intake portion of the filter and slide it on to the brass fitting and tighten down the hose clamp. On, the opposite side of the filter is the fuel flow out fitting slide the new hose on to the fitting and secure it with the hose clamp. The final step is to take the other end of the hose and fit it on to the intake fitting where the pump ball is to supply fuel to the engine. Prime the ball until it is solid and be patient. She will have a little trouble starting at first because, of all the air in the line. When the air is removed and the supply ball is pumped up solid you should now be all set.
NOTE* Most filters do not come with the brass fittings. You need to know the size of your fuel line hose in order to purchase these. You will also need to measure the fuel out line length and purchase that length of fuel hose to complete this project.

A:
It is a 10 Micron filter. Filters with a rating of higher than 10 microns, i.e. 21 microns, do not filter particles as small as the 10 micron filters. These particles can and will effect your injectors and WILL cause damage to your engine. A 10 micron filter is essential to the protection of your engine, especially if you use E-10 fuel. Good luck and good boating.
