A:
This lure is intended to float slowly back to the surface after a stop in retrive.

A:
It sinks very slowly, and when you start to pull it will suspend..

I just bought a few of these in a variety of colors and in both sizes.

I tested both of these in the same water (freshwater lake), water temperature was probably in the mid to low 60's.

The smaller 2 3/8" size seems to sink slowly, while the larger 2 3/4" size has a slow float back to the surface.

If you order the lighter colors like Clown, you get bright chrome hooks, but if you order darker colors like Texas Shad, you get dark hooks. Personally I would prefer dark hooks on everything, but that's just nitpicking on an otherwise great lure.

I believe this is a suspending model. I only own one but mine suspends so depending on the individual bait and water temperature a suspending bait will slowly sink, slowly rise, or truely suspend.

#38 is my favorite. When in doubt I always pull out #38 and catch bass. Weather and water conditions play a factor color choice but I believe the main reason I am always successful with #38 is my confidence in this crank. Confidence has a lot to do with it. Try #38 and let me know how you do! Good luck!

A:
As with most crankbaits, there are a few rules to follow when it comes to color. The first is in regard to water color, if it's clear you’ll want to go with more natural colors and if it's stained use brighter colors. The second rule is to match the hatch. Do this in both size and color. Pick a color that would be best in the water conditions you fish in the most for the best results.

I WAS RAISED IN A BIG CITY AND I ONLY SAY THAT BECAUSE IF SOMEONE LIKE ME WHO DOESN'T REALLY KNOW ALOT ABOUT FISHING CAN CATCH FISH WITH THESE LURES.......ANYONE CAN. AFTER DOING EVERYTHING THE LOCALS SAID TO DO WITH ALMOST NO FISH CAUGHT..... I DECIDED TO BUY ONE OF THESE VISITING A FRIEND IN ST. LOUIS. I BOUGHT A 2-3/8" NO. 49 AND THE FISH HAMMERED IT. I JUST RECENTLY ORDERED MORE OF THIS COLOR BUT WANTED TO TRY SOME MORE. I THINK ANYTHING SHINNY WILL WORK. JUST ON THIS LURE....OVER 60 WALLEYE....LOTS OF BASS..CHANNEL CAT AND EVEN A 36 IN NORTHERN. I HEAR ALOT OF PEOPLE SAY NOT TO USE CHEAP LURES BUT IN MY EXPERIENCE...WLLEYE TEETH WILL TEAR UP ANY LURE TO WHERE YOU'LL HAVE TO BUY ONE EVERY YEAR ANYWAY. I COULD USE THE OLD ONE BUT AFTER SEEING HOW MUCH BETTER THE NEW ONES LOOK I THINK I'LL RETIRE IT. $ 3.99 FOR OVER 100 FISH.....PRETTY CHEAP FISHING. GO WITH NO. 49.

I fish Professionally and I am on the Pro Staff with Bass Pro Shops. If I were to select three colors, I would get the 09--49--02. You can catch fish just about everywhere with these colors. I caught 4 bass in a Tournment in 2min with one of these. Also caught 21 fish the first day, and 19 the second day, using the 49 color. Hope this helps out. But remember, the most important thing in selection, is matching the color the what swims in the water where you are fishing . Great fishing.

I would buy a couple of different colors. Maybe one to match the forage in your lake like a shad color or shiner color. Such as 19, 48, or 55. I personally would use these colors on a sunny day. Then I would get one that's bright, to use on cloudy days or in muddy water, like a chartreuse or a fire tiger. Such as 4, 16, or 23 Then I might get one that I just plain like, because I know I am more likely to fish with a color I personally like. Just buy a couple colors and experiment. I hope this helped. Good fishing!
