A:
I carpeted the bunkers on my old trailer with carpet scraps and stapled them on the sides. Any old carpet works, put the staples on the sides away from where contact with the boat will be.

Any scraper 2" to 4" will work well. I found it worked best to apply the glue to the back of the carpet rather than the seat.

Worked great for me on rubber backed marine carpet when gluing down to marine grade plywood. It is waterproof, but I cannot compare it to Synergistecs 240 as I have not used that glue.

A:
Yes it will. The biggest thing to insure good results is to clean & prep the surface properly. After removing any residue, be sure & clean the surface with a solvent based cleaner, such as acetone. Using an orange based cleaner, or something not solvent based can result in a film being left on the surface, even if it's dry to the touch. After being exposed to water, the film is reactivated and will impact the adhesion of the glue negatively. Hope this helps, good luck!
