I was wondering what the difference between this and the oil was and when you would use this instead of the oil. Any help would be appreciated. :)

I would only use the the grease on bearings and gears and use the oil for other moviing parts. Use small amounts ONLY.

The grease is better for moving parts like gears that have more contact with each other and move slower. The oil is better for bearings and spool shafts beacuse they need to be able to spin freely and have minimal drag on them for better performance.

Your reel has places that need a light lubricant, which would be oil, and other areas that require grease. This product would be used where the gease is to be used. I would take a look at your owners manual which shows both, online to manufactuers site, or take it to your local sporting goods store to show you which goes where.

The grease is used to pack around the gears if you fish fresh water you can go six months or more before you need to regrease the gears, salt water every month or two. All of this is based on how much you fish. The oil is for the bearings go light on the oil. Too much oil will cause drag, and will leak out of your real making it tough to hang on to.

Make sure that the grease is used only on the main gear and the worm gear. Apply it sparingly as it does not take much. Use oil on all bearings and apply sparingly also. Just a drop will go a long way.

Use grease on the gears,it's thick so it wont runoff the gears when you turn the handle! Use the oil on the bearings and the spool shaft, it's lighter, it will not slow the action of the bearing and is a lot easier to lube bearings whit the oil than with grease!
