Maybe occasionally but really its meant for crankbaits with treble hooks . One suggestion I have for anyone is that I put mine on an old ambassador c3 55 and just lately I put the reel on a broke in the middle heavy action rod . Works great and worked really good on the reel without the rod too but it does the job easier now on the broke rod . It will often times bend hooks or split rings but they are replaceable for cheaper than the whole lure for sure . I love mine and fish stumps and brush piles with a lot of confidence . Having it has made me a better fisherman for sure . In my opion this is must have equipement for fishermen on budjets like me . Good luck and tight lines .A:
i have not used it on plastic worms, but i can tell you it has worked for me on crankbaits, and i have used it on spinners, i dont see why it wouldn't work on plastics.Q:

Will it retrieve in-line spinners like Mepps? Do you have to be directly over the lure?

yes it works on spinners, and no you dont need to be right over the lure. it may be a little heavy for light line tho, i run 10lb line and had no problem. it has worked well for me.

look...from what i have read this is more trouble than its worthI dont recommend leaving your snags out in nature...if your like me get in the water and go get it...and if your not gonna than dont buy $20 lures when you could be buying XTS series and catching more fish

It will retrieve nothing. It is a waste of money. Save your money and buy a retriever on an extension pole when you can. My friend has one and it actually works well.A:
it will take some finess but it retieve an in line spinner and yes you need to be directly over it or your line will sag and trap the retriever mid way

yes it will (it will be a little harder than to rescue a crankbait) and no you dont have to be directly over the lure but sure it helps.1 of 1
