Everybody wondered just what the heck long-time Ozarks guide Bob Martin was throwing. No matter who fished those Truman tourneys of the 80s and 90s, they didn't stand a chance against Bob and his "secret bait." And he kept a tight lid on it, because he knew that if the secret ever got out, things would never be the same on his beloved Truman Lake. Today, we're proud to present Bob's original go-to-bait, updated with state-of-the-art technology. Its patent-pending chassis anchor the pull point/hooks and helps it run true on every cast. The balsa body is fitted with a precisely angled diving lip, which created a rolling, vibrating action that bass can't help but hammer. 3-D laser eyes, loud internal rattle, VMC premium hooks. Lenght: 3-1/4". Weight: 1/2 oz. Dives to 4'.
**Note: Boogie name used with permission from Pradco Fishing.
The Bandit Flat Maxx is a coffin lip balsa with rattles that is the bomb diggity I promise you . It is a tight wiggle like a lipless crank . Hope that helps you out . Good luck and tight lines .
It depends on which model you have, ML, MT or a MHT look on the rod between the reel and the first guide. It should be written on the side or bottom somewhere in that area.
You did not state the weight of your crankin' stick. I have the 6'6" in MH and don't feel comfortable throwing anything above 3/8 oz. UNLESS I'm using a balsa crank which is much lighter than the plastics. Then, I'll go up to 1/2 oz.
THE BALSA BOOGIE IS A GREAT CRANK BAIT THAT CATCHES FISH. IT'S DURABILITY IS TERRIBLE! AFTER A ONE DAY USE IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS IN A BATTLE THAT IT LOST. THE PAINT CHIPS OFF WHICH REVEALS THE SPLICE BETWEEN THE PLASTIC AND WOOD. IT STILL CATCHES FISH BUT LOOKS REALLY BAD. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL AND THEY ALL DO THE SAME. I WILL STILL PURCHASE MORE!
No the durablity of this bait is terrible. It will not last you very long before it is cracked and paint peels off exposing the balsa wood beneath. Save up and buy an RC series crankbait much better bang for your buck.
This is a question that really has no right answer. You can ask 100 different people around the country and get 100 different answers. The best crankbait on the market is the one you have the most confidence in and works best for you. GOOD LUCK!!
