This can work for bass, big bluegill, and other Panfish. You use it by moving rod rod in pops. For me, I use very small pops and reeling in. it is a very good natural bait.

I find that this lure does not ride properly in the water and many times lies on it side, instead of upright. I feel that this lure is trictly a warm water fishing lure, not for trout or carp but maybe for chad...

Great top water bait for freshwater bass. The lure is designed to be twitched in a right to left motion (walking the dog)..I've found success in throwing it to ambush points. Let it set still for a full minute and begin the action...most hits (for me) are on the pause

I use this lure during the months when insects are active, just cast it near overhangs and along edges. When it enters the water just let it sit for a good 15 seconds many hits will occur before you even move it as fish are looking up for insects to feed on. If after 15 seconds there is no hit, then slowly work the lure back with a pop, pop, pause. Let the pause last for a good 5 seconds or longer before repeating, they will blow up on it. I've caught bass and bluegill on this lure. Using this lure on ultralight gear is a blast.

The lure is the same body size as a Rebel Bighopper (1 3/4" & 3/16 oz). The hooks are size 10's each. Most panfish are trying to break apart anything that hits the water before they actually eat it. That being said, most of the bites you will get from bream on topwaters and micro cranks are going to be on the middle treble. These hooks are pretty sharp for such an inexpensive bait, so they will grab a bluegill if it takes a swipe at this bait.
The lure tends to roll on it's side, so I replace the back treble with a size 6 hook. It adds a little weight, pulls the tail of the lure down at rest and helps the lure sit more evenly at rest. This bigger back treble also does a better job of holding onto the occasional bass that will no doubt take a swipe at this little hopper. Hope this helps.

With no problem. If something hits but doesnt hook up leave it still and a lot of times the bluegill will try a few more times and you will get him. The small treble hooks make it easier to catch the smaller fish plus the lure itself is only about 1 1/4" long. I posted a pic of a larger bluegill that fit the whole grasshopper in her mouth
