I would say with an extra long cast w/ 10lb test this bait will consistantly reach 16-18'

YES, IF YOU WANT IT TO GO THE DEEPEST, BUY THE DD22 SUSPEND. CAST IT AS FAR AS YOU CAN, HOLD THE TIP OF YOUR ROD DOWN IN THE WATER, WIND 10-15 TIMES AROUND AS HARD & FAST AS YOU CAN & THEN WIND AT A NORMAL SPEED. THIS GETS THE BAIT DOWN DEEP QUICK & ALOWS YOU TO FISH IT IN THE DEEP ZONE LONGER!
THE "SUSPEND" BAITS WEIGH ALOT MORE THAN THE REGULAR ONES. THEREFORE THEY GO DEEPER & HELP STAY THERE AS WELL.

If you can get a long enough cast it would get there for a short period before it started back up.

Actually on 12 pound Stren I've trolled it @ 28-30 feet.

#39 got me a 9 pound 14oz Brown Trout 6/9/08

Depending on your line diameter and whether or not you are trolling versus cranking. Cranking, I doubt you will be able to get that deep. Trolling on the other hand, you might get 20ft down but 25' I would think you are pushing it. You could troll this on some 6lb diameter/ 20lb equivalent spiderwire and see how deep you can bump bottom.
