I want to mount some waterproof hard boxes also and the boottector bracket u-bolts look like they might punch holes in bottom of storage boxes?

A: 
According to the Kolpin website, the Boottector can be used with the 6.0 gun boot. I believe the Impact and the Transport are the same as far as shape is concerned. The difference is on the inside with the padding and the removable soft case.
