Chrome plated steel and will rust in a salty environment. Try item 52790600, which is stainless steel.

The width of the area the latch lock goes through is much wider on the UFP couplers, so the lock needs to be longer. The length of the 55374000 is 3-1/2" and the length of the 55374800 is 7/8", so if you have a UFP you would want the 55374000.
